in Politics / Kyrgyzstan - by

Deputy Nadira Narmatova commented on rumors about losing her mandate and being appointed to the consulate in Almaty, Kazakhstan. In an interview on the YouTube channel Govori TV, she mentioned learning about the consul position offer from the media. Narmatova associates this information with amendments she initiated in the NGO Law, introducing the concept of "foreign representative." She emphasized that reports of her resigning are related to the NGO Law and stated her commitment to fulfilling her duties as a deputy and contributing to lawmaking. Narmatova expressed her intention to amend the NGO Law for over 10 years to safeguard the state and highlighted her past involvement in charitable activities.

Regarding the allegations against Raiymbek Matraimov, Narmatova defended knowing him and his brothers, stating that many deputies are acquainted with him. She suggested that if accountability is required, it should extend to various high-ranking officials. Narmatova also addressed accusations from elders in Jalal-Abad, asserting her entry into parliament through the Ata Jurt Kyrgyzstan party without Matraimov's funding.

The State Committee for National Security (GKNB) declared Raiymbek Matraimov wanted under Article 169 for "assisting in restricting a person's freedom of movement with violent detention without signs of an official crime" of the Kyrgyz Criminal Code. Recent media coverage linking parliamentarians to Matraimov has led to calls for their voluntary resignation or mandate revocation. Notably, Abdvakhap Boronbaev's mandate was recently terminated, and Saidbek Zulpuev assumed the position. The Central Election Commission also prematurely ended the mandates of Iskender Matraimov and Nurlan Razhabaliev. Additionally, Aybek Osmonov voluntarily resigned, and Shayloobek Atazov expressed concerns about losing his mandate.

The chief editor of "Region TV," Otkurbek Rahmanov, confirmed the channel's ownership by Kamchybek Tashiev.
