Kyrgyzstan to Host Second World Taekwondo Championship for the Deaf

The second World Taekwondo Championship for the Deaf is scheduled to take place in Bishkek from March 25 to 30. This announcement was made today during a press conference by Tilekmat Abdyrakhmanov, the head of the department of elite sports at the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic.

About 200 athletes from 14 countries, including China, Croatia, Korea, Mexico, Japan, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Ukraine, and others, are expected to participate in the championship. Kyrgyzstan will be represented by 13 athletes, with nine women and four men, as stated by the national team's head coach Dmitry Ponomarev.

Ponomarev emphasized that the Kyrgyz athletes are well-prepared and motivated to succeed. Abdyrakhmanov mentioned that the championship has a budget of 4 million soms allocated from the national budget.
