International Run the Silk Road Marathon 2024 to Take Place on May 4th at Issyk-Kul Lake

The upcoming International Run the Silk Road Marathon 2024 is set to take place on May 4th at the picturesque Issyk-Kul Lake, as announced by the executive director of the marathon directorate, Aigerim Valisheva during a press conference.

Over 3,000 participants from nearly 20 countries are expected to take part in the marathon. The route has been certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races and is licensed for the Olympic and Asian Games, World Marathon Championship, and carries the label of the World Athletics Association.

The marathon, held under the auspices of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, will feature various categories including age groups 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, 65 and older, as well as the visually impaired category, in addition to the overall winners for both male and female participants.

The event will offer a range of distances including the full marathon of 42.195 kilometers, half marathon of 21.097 kilometers, 10-kilometer and 3-kilometer races, a children's dash, as well as 10-kilometer and 3-kilometer Nordic walking races.
