Kyrgyz wrestler Bekzat Almaz uulu has secured an Olympic license at the Asian licensing tournament in Bishkek. Competing in the freestyle wrestling tournament in the 57kg weight category, Almaz uulu advanced from the 1/8 finals to the semi-finals after defeating competitors from Palestine and China. In the semi-final, he faced off against a Mongolian opponent and emerged victorious, earning himself a spot at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
Almaz uulu joins fellow Kyrgyz athletes Zholaman Sharshenbekov, Aisuluu Tynybekova, Aiperi Medet kyzy, and Akzhol Makhmudov (wrestling), as well as swimmer Denis Petrashov, in securing Olympic licenses ahead of the upcoming games.
