Competing in the 68-kilogram weight category, the Kyrgyz athlete secured victories against opponents from Kazakhstan and India in the first two matches. However, she was defeated by a competitor from North Korea in the following match.
After finishing first in her group, Mээрим advanced to the semifinals, where she overcame the athlete from Uzbekistan, Nabira Esenbaeva, with a score of 7:2.
It is worth noting that only those who reach the final of the tournament secure a spot at the Olympics. There are no matches for the gold medal in this competition.
This license marks the eighth for Kyrgyzstan. Previously, wrestlers Ernazar Akmataliev, Zholaman Sharshenbekov, Aisuluu Tynybekova, Aiperi Medet kyzy, Akzhol Makhmudov, and Bekzat Almaz uulu, as well as swimmer Denis Petrashov, have also secured a place at the Olympics.
