Representing the Kyrgyz school of Greco-Roman wrestling, Zhulaman Sharshenbekov secured the gold medal at the Yasar Dogu&Vehbi Emre tournament. This achievement was announced by the President of the Wrestling Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic, Melis Turganbaev.
Competing in the 60-kilogram weight category, Sharshenbekov started his journey from the 1/8 finals. He demonstrated his skills by defeating his opponent from Kazakhstan with a score of 9:0, followed by another impressive victory against a Turkish wrestler in the quarter-finals with the same score.
In the semi-final match against a wrestler from Uzbekistan, Sharshenbekov emerged victorious, paving his way to the final. The Kyrgyz wrestler showcased his talent once again in the final, triumphing over an Iranian opponent with a score of 5:0 to claim the tournament's gold medal.
