in Economy / Tajikistan - by

In 2024, Tajik pilgrims heading to Hajj will pay less than in 2023, as reported by the Republic's Committee on Religious Affairs. The cost for the Hajj services in 2024 is set at 57,000 somonis, which is 2,000 somonis less than the previous year's 59,000 somonis. In 2022, the cost was 61,000 somonis.

The price has been determined in agreement with the Antimonopoly Service and will cover the airfare to Saudi Arabia, accommodation in Medina, three meals a day, guide services, sacrificial offerings, government fees, and books. Pilgrims will also have transfers to Mecca and its surroundings, Arafat, the Muzdalifah and Mina valleys, and back, with medical insurance included.

This year, pilgrims can make payments electronically through branches of Orienbank. According to the new regulations, Saudi authorities have warned foreign citizens and residents about potential penalties for participating in Hajj 2024 without permission.

Individuals without authorization may face imprisonment for 2 to 6 months and fines of up to 50,000 riyals (over $13,300). Foreign residents detained in this regard will also face deportation and a 10-year entry ban.

Previously, the Religious Affairs Committee announced that Saudi Arabia allocated 7,000 quotas for Tajik citizens this year.
