The Committee on Architecture and Construction of Tajikistan has approved a new order mandating the use of solar power systems in building construction and reconstruction starting from April 1 of this year, as stated in the published directive by the committee's head, Nizom Mirzozoda.
This means that in addition to the regular power grid, buildings will be equipped with solar panels capable of storing energy for nighttime use.
Various types of buildings fall under this directive: educational, medical, cultural, tourist, administrative, public, sports complexes, residential houses, industrial facilities, trade and service centers, catering points, and even amusement parks, roads, and streets.
The document notes that measures will also be taken to regulate prices for materials and equipment for solar energy systems.
This step is taken within the framework of the "Green" economy development strategy and the construction industry development strategy until 2030, as highlighted in the announcement.
Previously, the Mayor of Dushanbe, Rustam Emomali, instructed to ensure outdoor lighting around schools and kindergartens in the capital, as well as around healthcare institutions.
Such instructions were voiced by the mayor at the seventeenth session of the sixth convocation Majlisi Milli (City Council) in Dushanbe on March 12.
He also ordered to provide lighting around high-rise buildings, other enterprises, and organizations using solar batteries.
