The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has launched a new project in Tajikistan aimed at developing entrepreneurship and the business environment. The presentation of the project took place today, April 18, in Dushanbe.

The five-year USAID project on employment and entrepreneurship development, worth $18 million, aims to contribute to the sustainable development and creation of inclusive economic opportunities in Tajikistan.

The initiative's goal is to assist enterprises in the textile, processing industries, and the IT sector to enhance their productivity, implement new technologies, increase investments, and establish market connections.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Peter Riley, the USAID Mission Director in Tajikistan, highlighted the importance of the project.

Art Gandilyan, a representative from the main office of ACDI-VOSA (a non-profit organization for international development), also emphasized the significance of the initiative.

According to the information bulletin on the USAID website, a similar project was launched in Tajikistan in 2019, scheduled to run until 2024.

In March of this year, USAID allocated $7.5 million to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to provide assistance to families in Tajikistan facing food shortages.

The efforts of USAID in Tajikistan are making a positive impact on various sectors and contributing to the country's development and economic growth.
