Tajikistan President Discusses Development Prospects with World Bank Delegation

President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, discussed today, on March 7, with the delegation of the World Bank's Board of Directors the prospects for developing relations between the republic and this financial institution, according to the press service of the head of state. Emomali Rahmon expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation between the parties, noting the successful implementation of various projects in the country with the participation of this financial institution.

During the meeting, issues of strengthening the country's economic stability, attracting investments in various sectors of the economy and social sphere were discussed. The parties emphasized the special need to attract additional investments in education, healthcare, agriculture, transportation, environment, tourism, as well as in enhancing the response to the consequences of natural disasters and developing a "green" economy.

Successes in continuing economic reforms, financing energy development, ensuring food security, and the need for reforms to prevent the influence of negative factors on the economy in the face of a changing climate and a complex global situation were highlighted.
