A delegation from the World Bank Executive Directors Council visited the Rogun Hydropower Plant in Tajikistan to assess the progress of the project. Led by the Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan, Usmonali Usmonzoda, along with the country's Minister of Finance and Minister of Energy and Water Resources, the delegation received a detailed briefing on the construction of this key hydroelectric facility.
During the visit, the guests were briefed on the project and the specifics of the construction process by experts from the Rogun Hydropower Plant. They inspected the progress of work on the main structures of the power plant, including the construction tunnel of the fourth level, the recently built reservoir, the world's tallest 335-meter concrete-faced rockfill dam, and the site of the power plant's permanent water intakes at an altitude of 1172 meters above sea level.
The delegation's visit provided an opportunity to witness firsthand the advancements in the construction of the Rogun Hydropower Plant, which is set to significantly contribute to Tajikistan's energy sector and overall development.
