During his visit, Aripov is scheduled to meet with the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, and the Prime Minister of Tajikistan, Kohir Rasulzoda. Following the meeting, the prime ministers of the two countries will sign a corresponding document.

Aripov and Rasulzoda are also expected to participate as co-chairs in the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission of the two countries on trade and economic cooperation. Prior to this meeting, the preparation issues were discussed by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan, Zavki Zavkizoda, and the Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development of Tajikistan.

The meeting is set to take place in Dushanbe, however, the specific date of the event is yet to be clarified. Zavkizoda and Kudratov exchanged views on expanding trade and economic cooperation and implementing priority investment projects. These projects include joint automobile production in Tajikistan and the establishment of tire production based on TALCO for the needs of the automotive industry in Uzbekistan, as well as the joint construction of two hydroelectric power plants on the Zarafshan River.

It is emphasized in the statement that in 2023, the volume of mutual foreign trade between the two countries amounted to $504.4 million. The share of trade with Uzbekistan was 6.1%, with the neighboring republic ranking 5th in the structure of Tajikistan's foreign trade turnover.

Both parties expressed confidence that this figure does not fully reflect the existing opportunities between the countries, highlighting that there are still many possibilities for fully utilizing this potential.
