On May 2, a meeting took place between the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea, Begench Durdyev, and the head of the municipality of Yonsan District in Seoul, Pak Hi Yeon. This was reported by the online publication "Vestiabad".
During the meeting, the key tasks of cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Turkmenistan and Korea were discussed. Both sides expressed their commitment to further expanding cooperation in this area.
Special attention during the negotiations was paid to the planned events in Seoul to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the birth of the Turkmen poet and philosopher, Makhtumkuli Frag. The year 2024 has been declared in Turkmenistan as the year of "The Treasury of Makhtumkuli Frag's Wisdom", which is why a series of cultural events is being held at the international level.
