The US Embassy in Turkmenistan together with the administration of the Mary region organized an eco-festival in the "Bagtyyarlyk" park on April 29. The event was reported by the online publication "TurkmenPortal".
Guests of the festival participated in games and practical activities, visited stands on environmental protection. Partners of the eco-festival included the American Corner in Mary, the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan, the Mary branch of the Nature Conservation Society of Turkmenistan, representatives of the Badhyz State Nature Reserve, and local cultural and educational centers.
The opening of the festival featured speeches by the deputy head of the Mary region and the US Ambassador to Turkmenistan M. Klimow. He noted that there were stations at the festival offering ideas on recycling, reuse, and identifying environmentally friendly products.
