Plant breeders from the Mahmutkulinsky Scientific and Production Experimental Center of the Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov of the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan are cultivating various species of deciduous, coniferous, and fruit trees from different parts of the planet. This information was reported by the online publication "Vestiabad".
Many varieties of fruit trees, adapted to local soil and climatic conditions, have been awarded at prestigious international exhibitions. Turkmenistan's breeders have successfully conducted experiments with 419 varieties of grapes from Europe, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Iran. A unique variety of pomegranate with a soft seed was obtained as a result.
The center's staff are continuing their scientific work on the approved topic for the period from 2024 to 2026.
