In the framework of the joint project of UNDP and the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan "Conservation and Sustainable Management of Land Resources and Ecosystems of High Natural Value in the Aral Sea Basin for Multiple Benefits," a seminar on sustainable management of pasture resources was held on April 26. This was reported by the online publication "TurkmenPortal."
The seminar featured presentations by experts from the Kaplankyr State Nature Reserve, the National Institute of Plant and Animal Life, the projects of ISCAUZR-2 (FAO), and Aral.
Participants of the seminar discussed the importance of conducting geobotanical research in inventorying pastures, the role of specially protected natural areas, possible types of agricultural activities in buffer zones of specially protected natural territories, and methods of assessing pastures using modern technologies. They also familiarized themselves with the legislation in the field of pasture resource management.
