President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev discussed the implementation of the "Saihunabad experience" in a meeting on May 10th, aimed at increasing the income of the population through the involvement of household plots and domestic economy in the Syrdarya region.

According to the press service of the head of state, the work initiated in April resulted in the employment of 365 thousand people and their engagement in entrepreneurship. Banks have started working closely with clients, providing conditions for the employment of 115 thousand people. Additionally, 70 thousand micro-projects have been implemented in neighborhoods, and cultivation of crops on 465 thousand hectares of household plots has commenced.

However, the president noted that progress is slow in some regions. For instance, upon inspection of 7 districts, it was found that no crops had been planted on dozens of household plots. In the examination of micro-projects in 1000 households, 7% (76) did not have their confirmation.

As a result, 382 responsible individuals at the district level were relieved of their duties due to the identified shortcomings.

The president emphasized the paramount importance of employment and income issues for the population and warned leaders at all levels, as stated in the message.

In March, Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed the implementation of the experience in increasing the income of the population in the Saihunabad district, with plans to extend it to the entire Uzbekistan. Business plans were to be developed for each of the 19 neighborhoods in the district based on the criterion of "1-2 million sum of income from each hundred square meters of household plot."
