Former Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan, Alibek Kuantyrov, has been appointed as the General Director of the Kazakh Association of Oil and Gas Organizations Kazenergy, as reported. This information was confirmed today, April 1, 2024, by the press service of Kazenergy.
Kenanty Ibrashev was the General Director of Kazenergy from April 2021 until this recent appointment. Alibek Kuantyrov, born on November 14, 1983, in Atyrau, graduated from Tomsk State University in 2006 with a degree in Finance and Credit, as well as Linguistics and Intercultural Communication. He further pursued a Master's in Applied Economics at the University of Michigan on the "Bolashak" scholarship in 2010 and is a member of the Presidential Youth Personnel Reserve.
His career began in September 2005 as a leading specialist at the Department of Internal Administration and the Department of International Relations of the Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning of Kazakhstan, where he worked until February 2006. He then held various positions in the Ministries of Economy and Budget Planning, Economic Development and Trade, Finance, Industry and New Technologies, as well as the Presidential Administration of Kazakhstan until January 2022. Additionally, he served as the Vice Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan from February 2021 to January 11, 2022.
From January 2022 to February 2024, Alibek Kuantyrov served as the Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan.
