President Sadyr Japarov has officially opened the new building for the Kyrgyz National Theater "Manas," as announced by the state leader's press service. The theater, established in September 2021, aims to promote the epic of "Manas," as well as other minor epics and the art of storytellers (manaschi, dastanchi). Construction of the two-story building began in the summer of 2022, with a total area of 1,600 square meters and a concert hall accommodating 300 seats.
In his remarks, President Japarov highlighted the significance of cultural heritage, emphasizing the contributions of renowned figures such as Kalygul, Arstanbek, Zhenizhok, Toktogul, Eshmambet, Barpy, and Kalyk in preserving the spiritual wealth through the power of music and poetry. He also praised historical figures like Eshenaly Arabayev, Kasym Tynybaev, Bolot Yunusaliyev, and Tugolbay Sydykbekov for safeguarding the language and epics for future generations.
Japarov underscored the invaluable legacy left by these noble individuals, stating that it is not just a spiritual treasure but a priceless asset for the coming generations. This sentiment led to the initiative of establishing the "Manas" theater.
The President expressed delight in the rapid progress of the theater's artists, who have showcased their talent through solo concerts of national and international significance, competitions, and festivals. The young theater has already begun collaborating with creative projects of international organizations such as TURKSOY, the Turkic Academy, the Foundation of Turkic Culture and Heritage, the Cultural Partnership Fund, and "Internus."
President Japarov emphasized the importance of supporting the endeavors of such enterprising youth, leading to the decision to construct the new building for the "Manas" theater. He personally inspected the new theater building and watched the prologue "Semeteidin Anty."
