in Culture / Kyrgyzstan - by

President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, shared insights on the construction of a new football stadium in Bishkek on his Facebook page. The stadium's design is inspired by the yurt, an important part of Kyrgyz culture, making it a unique architectural masterpiece. The stadium will feature Central Asia's largest covered parking lot for 3,600 cars, along with sports shops and shopping centers spanning 35,000 square meters.

A notable feature is the LED lighting of the FIFA Category A field, a technology not commonly found in most stadiums. The stadium will also implement a "hybrid grass technology" for hosting AFC and FIFA matches. The stadium's specifications include a 70,000 square meter building area, 180,000 square meter construction area, 8 floors with a height of 70 meters, a circular shape with a diameter of 280 meters, and a total stadium area of 85,000 square meters.

All 135,000 cubic meters of concrete for the stadium will be sourced locally to support domestic production, with a significant portion of the workforce being Kyrgyz citizens. The completion of the reinforced concrete works is scheduled in 13 months, while electromechanical works and the 50-meter heavy block roof are planned to be finished in seven months. With an additional six months for other tasks, the estimated construction period is approximately two years. President Japarov expressed confidence in securing the necessary funding and aims to have the stadium serving the people in two years, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
