Rising Citizen Grievances in 2023: Analysis of Ombudsman's Report

In 2023, 11,276 citizens turned to the Office of the Ombudsman. This was reported by the akychatchi Jamilya Jamanbaeva during a meeting of the Committee on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Judicial and Legal Issues, and Regulations of the Jogorku Kenesh.

According to Jamanbaeva, 23.2 percent of the complaints were submitted in writing, while 33.5 percent received oral consultations. The majority of those seeking assistance are pensioners, unemployed individuals, citizens without a permanent place of residence, people with disabilities, and prisoners. An analysis revealed that many complaints are directed towards judicial and law enforcement bodies.
