Kazakhstan President Tokayev Extends Easter Greetings to Citizens Amid Tradition

President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, congratulated the Kazakh people on the Bright Resurrection of Christ - Easter.

The head of state noted that this holiday symbolizes goodness and mercy, brings joy to believers, and strengthens hope for a bright future. Easter traditions, closely intertwined with our national cultural code, inspire all citizens to constructive achievements, care for others, and assistance to those in need.

It was previously reported that on May 4 at 23:30, the All-Night Vigil in honor of Easter began in all Orthodox churches in Kazakhstan. In the main cathedral of Almaty - the Holy Ascension Cathedral - the festive service was led by Metropolitan of Astana and Kazakhstan Alexander. Traditionally, the church witnessed the solemn blessing of Easter cakes and painted eggs, as well as a cross procession.

It was also reported that on the night before Easter, directly from Jerusalem, the clergy of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan brought the Holy Fire lamp.
