The wife of the Kazakhstan's ambassador's counselor in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has stated that her husband has been beating her for 10 years. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan has commented on the situation.

Karina Mamash sought help from activists and shared her story on social media. She revealed that she has been a victim of domestic violence for a decade. Mamash is requesting that her husband be stripped of his diplomatic status and sent to prison. Recently, she reported that he assaulted her and her older sister who was visiting.

"I am asking for help from our government, I am tired of staying silent, I am tired of enduring," added Karina Mamash.

A correspondent from a news source reached out to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a comment. In response, the ministry stated, "We are urgently recalling this employee to Kazakhstan. Further actions will be taken by law enforcement agencies."

Due to the increasing cases of domestic violence in Kazakhstan, on April 15, 2024, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a law that toughens the punishment for such offenses.
