Attack on Muslim Students in Indian University, Two Arrested

A group of individuals attacked Muslim students, including a Tajik, at Gujarat University, as reported by Radio Ozodi citing Indian media. The incident occurred on March 16, resulting in hospitalized victims and two attackers being arrested. The Gujarat government pledged strict actions against the culprits. The affected students had come to study in India from various countries including Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, South Africa, and Sri Lanka.

According to Hindustan Times, the crime branch of the Ahmedabad police detained two individuals accused of assaulting foreign students in the Gujarat University hostel during prayer. The police stated that around twenty people were involved in the attack, and not all perpetrators have been apprehended yet. Indian media reports indicate that the group of attackers entered the hostel and initiated a conflict with foreign students who were praying, leading to the assault where students were pelted with stones and their rooms damaged.
