Empowering Women in Media: International Conference Highlights Changing Media Landscape

The First International Central Asian Conference "Women in Media in a Changing World" will take place in Dushanbe on May 3, on the World Press Freedom Day.

The International Conference will gather female journalists and media experts from Central Asia to provide an opportunity for the media community and civil society to share valuable experiences in implementing projects aimed at the development of media organizations and to facilitate the establishment of professional and personal contacts.

The goal of the conference is to promote the professional award of the National Coalition of Women Journalists of Tajikistan in various categories and for contributions to the development of media at the Central Asian level, as well as to promote the expansion of cooperation among women in media at the international and national levels.

The conference program includes an award ceremony for the professional award of the NCWJT, panel discussions, and presentations on topics such as:

- "Gender and Mass Media. Gender Agenda in the Media"

- "Solutions Journalism. The Influence of Media on Shaping Public Opinion"

- "Opportunities and Role of Women's Media Organizations in the Development of National Media. Prospects for Regional Cooperation"

- "Digital Everyday Life of Digital Citizens. How Data and Digital Technologies Change Our Basic Rights and Ethical Norms"

- "Media Ecology and Media Literacy of the New Era"

Within the conference, a photo exhibition "Outstanding Women of Central Asia" will be organized.

The organizers of the conference are the National Coalition of Women Journalists of Tajikistan, the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe, and the Representation of the European Union in Tajikistan.
