Empowering Girls: Animated Film Challenges Stereotypes in Tajik Society

in Society / Tajikistan - by

The public organization "Khoma" in partnership with the International Partnership for Human Rights (IPHR) has created a short animated film as part of the "Know Your Rights" campaign. The two-minute clip sheds light on the discrimination faced by girls and the stereotypes prevalent in Tajik society.

The film highlights the common belief that being a girl means having limited opportunities, with the notion that girls do not belong in education or careers. Despite these stereotypes, the message of the film is clear: a girl, a young woman, can have all the opportunities for education and future career paths.

"I am a girl, and I am proud of it," says the girl in the concluding part of the film, encouraging others to overcome societal limitations and stereotypes, and to confidently embrace their lives.
