On March 19th, an event dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Turkmen poet and philosopher Mahdumkuli Fragi took place at the Palace of Nations in Geneva. The event was organized by the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN Office in Geneva, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The event was attended by the Head of the Geneva Office of the UN T. Valovaya, the Head of the UNESCO Bureau in Geneva A. Thompson-Flores, accredited Permanent Representatives and diplomats from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iran, Armenia, Hungary, the EU, and other countries, as well as representatives of UN agencies, various NGOs, media, and the Turkmen diaspora.
During the speeches, the ideas of humanism, peace, and love for the people in the works of Mahdumkuli were highlighted, emphasizing the role of the great sage's legacy in the formation of Turkmen literature and world culture.
