On March 19th, a meeting took place in Brussels between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported on the meeting.
During the discussion, cooperation issues in bilateral and multilateral formats were addressed, including within the framework of "Central Asia - EU". Promising areas of cooperation such as energy, transport, digitalization, education, and climate were highlighted.
The special importance of the EU-Turkmenistan Joint Committee's activities, as well as the dialogue on human rights and inter-parliamentary cooperation, was emphasized. Turkmenistan's initiatives aimed at ensuring regional security were also noted. Additionally, matters regarding the organization of the next meeting of foreign ministers of Central Asian countries and the EU were discussed.
