A delegation from Turkmenistan, led by the Chairperson of the Mejlis D. Gulmanova, took part in the 148th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Geneva, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the Women Parliamentarians' Forum, the Turkmen side presented initiatives on gender equality, women's empowerment, and the implementation of the National Action Plan for Gender Equality in Turkmenistan for the period 2021-2025.
Additionally, a meeting was held with the President of the IPU, Tulia Akson, where the Turkmen side expressed commitment to enhancing Turkmenistan's cooperation with the IPU in a bilateral format. In this context, readiness to host a delegation from Tanzania in Turkmenistan was also expressed.
During the IPU Assembly session, the Turkmen delegation introduced practical initiatives to strengthen peace and security, including through parliamentary diplomacy.
