The 61st meeting of Turkmenistan's Interdepartmental Commission on Caspian Sea issues took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with Deputy Prime Ministers, heads of relevant ministries and departments in attendance. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported that Turkmenistan has made a significant contribution to the development of the contractual and legal framework for cooperation in the Caspian Sea. The work in this direction continues jointly with the Caspian littoral states under international law.
During the meeting, the activities plan for 2024 of Turkmenistan's Interdepartmental Commission on Caspian Sea issues was discussed, focusing on economics, security, transportation, and the organization of international events. Special attention was paid to ecological issues in line with environmental diplomacy.
