Today, on April 2nd, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, held talks with the Regional Coordinator of the International Organization for Migration in Central Asia (IOM), Zeinal Hajiyev. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported on the meeting.
During the discussion, the parties addressed issues related to bilateral cooperation, particularly in ensuring the rights of refugees and stateless persons, as well as combating human trafficking.
The participants emphasized the successful implementation of the "Plan of projects planned for implementation by the Government of Turkmenistan in collaboration with the IOM Mission in Turkmenistan in 2023." Plans for activities and prospects for further cooperation for the current year were discussed. The need to improve the legal framework of cooperation was also highlighted by both sides.
