During the official visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, to Tajikistan, he held talks with President Emomali Rahmon. The TurkmenPortal website reported that President Serdar Berdimuhamedov extended an invitation to President Rahmon to visit Turkmenistan.
This invitation is in honor of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Mahtumkuli Fragi, with a forum for heads of state and government and leaders of international organizations scheduled to take place in Ashgabat on October 11. The Turkmen side expressed hope for President Rahmon's personal participation in the celebratory conference. Additionally, a conference at the ministerial level on culture is set to take place in Ashgabat in May of this year, with Tajikistan also participating.
