On April 6, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission to ensure the country's compliance with international human rights and humanitarian law obligations. The meeting was attended by deputies of the Mejlis, representatives of ministries, departments, and public organizations, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The Commission reviewed the activities for the first three months of 2024 and discussed the tasks related to the implementation of the "National Action Plan on Human Rights in Turkmenistan for 2021-2025," "National Action Plan on Gender Equality in Turkmenistan for 2021-2025," and "National Action Plan on the Rights of the Child in Turkmenistan for 2023-2028."
During the meeting, it was emphasized that Turkmenistan is fostering effective relations with UN structures to fulfill its international obligations. There is an ongoing process of improving legislation in line with national experience and international legal norms.
