On April 9th, a meeting took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and a delegation led by the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili. The Turkmenistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on the event.
During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of high-level meetings between the Heads of State and Governments in strengthening interstate relations. They discussed the prospects for cooperation in political-diplomatic, cultural-humanitarian, and trade-economic spheres.
The parties highlighted the fruitful nature of their interaction within international organizations. Attention was drawn to the significance of the activities of the bilateral Intergovernmental Turkmen-Georgian Commission on Economic Cooperation. Priority areas of cooperation were identified as transport, energy, and trade.
