A meeting of the project council of the Ombudsman's office and the UN Development Programme was held in Ashgabat with the participation of the Human Rights Ombudsman in Turkmenistan, Yazdursun Gurbannazarova, and the Acting Resident Representative of the UNDP in Turkmenistan, Tomica Paovic. The joint project "Assistance in strengthening the institutional capacity of the Ombudsman's office of Turkmenistan" has been extended until the end of 2024. The meeting reviewed the results of the work in this direction over the past year, as well as the tasks and activities for the upcoming period.
In addition, discussions were held on the accreditation of the Ombudsman's office in the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions and further assistance in strengthening the institutional capacity of the Office in accordance with the Paris Principles.
