A meeting of the Turkmen-Uzbek demarcation group took place in the city of Nukus, Uzbekistan, from April 1 to 7, 2024, as reported by the online publication "Vestiabad."
During the meeting, issues regarding the demarcation of the state border were discussed, including preparations for a joint session of the Intergovernmental Commission on the demarcation of the state border between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. At the end of the meeting, a Protocol was signed.
The next meeting of the working group will take place in Turkmenistan. Previously, in February of this year, a meeting was held in the city of Turkmenabat, Turkmenistan.
It is worth noting that the work on formalizing the Turkmen-Uzbek border, which spans 1650 km, began after the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Turkmenistan in March 2017.
