Turkmenistan's Deputy Foreign Minister Attends CIS Foreign Ministers Meeting

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan S. Mukhammeddurdiyev participated in the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS, which took place in Minsk on April 12. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported this.

The event was also attended by the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan D. Bayramov, the Head of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus S. Aleinik, the Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan M. Nurtley, the Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan J. Kulubaev, the Foreign Minister of Russia S. Lavrov, the Foreign Minister of Tajikistan S. Mukhriddin, the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan B. Saidov, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia M. Safaryan, and the Secretary-General of the CIS S. Lebedev.

Issues of cooperation within the Commonwealth were discussed, as well as the project of the Convention on the Legal Status of Delegations sent to CIS countries. The sports capitals of the CIS were announced – in 2025, Ganja of Azerbaijan will become the capital, and in 2026, Almaty of Kazakhstan.

During the event, a Statement was signed on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the CIS being granted observer status at the UN General Assembly.
