On April 14th, the annual Turkmen-American political consultations took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The Turkmen side was represented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov, while the US side was represented by the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, John Pommersheim. The meeting addressed the current state of bilateral cooperation, its future prospects, as well as international policy issues.
Topics such as security at regional and global levels, trade and economic ties, environmental issues, culture, and education were discussed. The special importance of jointly addressing environmental challenges was highlighted. Additionally, the effectiveness of establishing fruitful inter-parliamentary cooperation was noted.
