On April 17, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, met with the Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of the Intergovernmental Commission of TRASECA, Aset Asavbayev. The Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on the meeting.
During the discussion, the parties talked about the current situation and the prospects for further development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and TRASECA. The Turkmen side expressed its commitment to jointly implement TRASECA documents to expand the transport-transit potential of the region and the investment opportunities of transport-transit corridors.
It was noted that Turkmenistan joined the Basic Multilateral Agreement on International Transport for the Development of the Europe-Caucasus-Asia corridor in November last year. This agreement aims to enhance trade and transport cooperation in the region.
