Representatives from Turkmenistan took part in the ECOSOC Youth Forum on "Enhancing Recovery post-COVID-19 towards the full realization of the 2030 Agenda" from April 16 to 18. The hybrid event was held at the UN Headquarters in New York, as reported by the online publication "Orient."
The delegation from Turkmenistan included the Head of the Department of International Cooperation of the Central Council of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly Pyragy, Begench Khalnepesov, and third-year student of the International Relations Department of the Magtymguly University, Maral Allaberdyyeva.
The forum aimed at consolidating youth efforts in building a sustainable future. Key topics of the forum included addressing the consequences of the pandemic, accelerating the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals, and engaging the younger generation in decision-making. A statement with recommendations on post-COVID-19 recovery and expediting the SDGs was adopted at the forum.
