On April 18, an online meeting took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and the heads of UN agencies in the country and regional structures. The online publication "Vestiabad" reported on this event.
During the meeting, issues related to Turkmenistan's interaction with the UN were discussed, priority areas were identified, and relevant proposals were voiced. The Turkmen side expressed its commitment to deepening cooperation with the UN in areas such as peacebuilding, security, achieving Sustainable Development Goals, sustainable transport development, and climate change mitigation.
The parties also discussed the prospects of Turkmenistan's collaboration with UN agencies in the fields of sustainable development, transportation, climate change, and environmental protection. In the context of humanitarian cooperation, attention was paid to the preservation of national cultural heritage, as well as the application of best practices in the education and healthcare systems.
