On May 12th, a Japanese delegation led by the Chairman of the Japan-Turkmenistan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, a member of the House of Representatives of the Japanese Parliament Toshiaki Endo will arrive in Ashgabat to discuss bilateral cooperation issues. This was reported by the online publication "TurkmenPortal".
The planned visit was announced by the Ambassador of Japan to Turkmenistan during a meeting with the Chairperson of the Mejlis D. Gulmanova. He noted that the upcoming visit will be an important step in strengthening the inter-parliamentary Turkmen-Japanese partnership.
There was mutual interest expressed in strengthening intergovernmental dialogue through parliamentary diplomacy, improving the legal framework of cooperation, and exchanging experiences between parliamentarians of the two countries.
Earlier, in February 2024, a delegation from Turkmenistan led by the Chairperson of the Mejlis D. Gulmanova made a working visit to Japan.
