On May 2, 2024, a meeting took place between the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Kazakhstan, Batyr Redzhepov, and the Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kanat Sharlapayev. This was reported by the online publication "Vestiabad".
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation, including within the framework of the Protocol of the twelfth meeting of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Kazakh commission on economic, scientific-technical, and cultural cooperation.
In addition, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan shared information about the first Turkmen city, Arkadag, where all services operate based on the innovative concept of a "smart city". The city was opened in June of last year and has been granted the status of a city of national importance with the rights of a velayat.
