Three countries, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, and Afghanistan have agreed to establish a joint logistics center in Turgundi on the Afghan-Turkmen border. This was reported by the online publication "Türkmenistan habarlar portaly".
The trilateral meeting was attended by the Director-General of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, M. Chakyev, the Minister of Trade and Industry of Afghanistan, N. Azizi, and the Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, S. Zhumangarin.
The parties have reached an agreement to expand trade and transit agreements between the countries. They discussed the possibilities of applying preferential export tariffs for Afghan marble, limestone, and other valuable minerals. During the meeting, they addressed the current issues of establishing gas and oil supplies from Turkmenistan and Afghanistan.
Attention was given to the development of Afghanistan's railway infrastructure, quarantine for Afghan export and transit goods, reducing transport and transit costs, and strengthening banking ties to facilitate settlements.
