The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, proposed several initiatives during the 15th meeting of the Council of Elders of the Turkic States.
One of the initiatives put forward by the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty was the establishment of the title "Honorary Elder of the Turkic States Organization" along with a corresponding insignia. This title will be awarded for the merits of the older generation in strengthening the bonds of friendship and brotherhood, unity, cohesion, and in the upbringing of hardworking youth.
To promote the activities of the Turkic States Organization, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty suggested publishing special newspapers and magazines, as well as developing a website for the Council of Elders of the Turkic States.
