A meeting was held in the Turkmen capital as part of the 15th session of the Council of Elders of Turkic States chaired by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The internet publication "TurkmenPortal" reported on the event.
During the meeting, issues related to the activities of the Council of Elders and the Turkic Council, as well as the further plans of the member countries and the implementation of agreements reached during the previous session, were discussed. At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty congratulated the participants on the onset of the Holy month of Oraza.
The event also focused on celebrating the 300th anniversary of the birth of Mahtumkuli Fraghi and declaring the year 2024 in Turkmenistan as the "Year of the Treasure of Mahtumkuli Fraghi's Wisdom." Speakers at the meeting included the Chairman of the Turkic Council of Elders, Binali Yyldyrym, the Secretary-General of the Turkic Council, Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Council of Elders member from the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ikram Adyrbekov, and others.
