The main attraction of the city of Anau, the cultural capital of the Turkic world-2024, is the ruins of the Seyit Jamal ad-Din Mosque. This historical monument embodies the best traditions of architectural and artistic styles of the Timurid era. The mosque, built in the 15th century in honor of Sheikh Jelal-ad-din, consisted of 17 rooms and was located on the cliff of the fortress wall of the Anau settlement.

Although the mosque was destroyed by an earthquake in 1948, architect G.A. Pugachenkova had made an architectural and artistic description of it a year prior. The complex included the mosque, a mausoleum, and two buildings with domed halls. The structure was characterized by a variety of vaulted constructions and colorful facades.

Today, some fragments of the mosque's decor are preserved in the Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan. The Seyit Jamal ad-Din Mosque remains a significant historical and cultural landmark, showcasing the rich architectural heritage of the region and attracting visitors from around the world to marvel at its beauty and historical significance.
