The Iranian Cultural Center in Ashgabat has opened an exhibition in honor of the sacred month of Ramadan. The exhibition showcases samples of calligraphy, artistic miniatures, and copies of the Quran in various languages. A prominent piece in the exhibition is a painting where the entire Quran is intricately written in calligraphic script.
An interesting exhibit includes a newborn pillow with audio playback of spiritual verses. Iranian calligraphy masters Hadi Sayedhani and Fatima Parastande Hia conducted a calligraphy workshop for students of the State Art Academy of Turkmenistan and schoolchildren.
Hadi Sayedhani highlighted the cultural cooperation between Iran and Turkmenistan and noted that many Turkmen poets wrote in calligraphy, including the great thinker Makhtumkuli Frag.
