Turkmenistan Citizen Arrested for Assaults in St. Petersburg and Domestic Violence in Voronezh

A citizen of Turkmenistan has been detained in St. Petersburg on charges of sexually assaulting two women he met on a dating website. Meanwhile, in Voronezh, another man from Turkmenistan is facing allegations of domestic violence.

According to local media reports, a 43-year-old woman from Murino in the Leningrad region reported to the police that she was assaulted by a man she met on a dating site. The man initially registered as Mark, later revealed his name as Amir from Turkmenistan, and assaulted her in a car.

The suspect, a 32-year-old man named Bayram, was arrested on February 21 in St. Petersburg. It was discovered that his real name is Bayram and he came to Russia to study but ended up working as a taxi driver. He had a previous conviction for falsifying documents.

In a separate incident, a 45-year-old woman from St. Petersburg reported that Bayram assaulted her in a taxi a week prior. She met him on the same dating site, and he assaulted her after parking the car and strangling her.

In Voronezh, a 57-year-old woman named Elena spoke out about her ex-husband, a native of Turkmenistan. She described years of abuse, including physical violence that escalated to the point of breaking bones. Despite legal intervention, the situation remains unresolved.

When contacted for comment, the ex-husband denied the allegations and cut off communication with journalists. The cases highlight the importance of addressing violence against women and the need for effective legal measures to protect victims.
