The UNDP in Turkmenistan organized an intellectual contest among university students in honor of International Women's Day. The event took place at the UN building in Ashgabat, focusing on the theme "Women Scientists: Leaders in Climate Change Adaptation." The contest aimed to showcase the leading role of women and girls in the country in adapting to climate change and reducing its impacts.
The grand prize of the contest was awarded to students from the Oguz Khan Turkmenistan Engineering and Technology University. The first place was taken by the team from the Magtumguly Turkmen State University, with students from the Y. Kakaev Magtumguly Turkmen State Medical University coming in second place. The third place was shared by representatives from the Turkmen State Architectural and Construction Institute and the Turkmen Agricultural University. The winners and runners-up were awarded certificates and prizes from the UNDP.
